Funerals & Memorials

This existence of ours is as transient as autumn clouds.

To watch the birth and death of beings is like looking at the movements of a dance.

A lifetime is like a flash of lightning in the sky,

Rushing by like a torrent down a steep mountain.

~ the Buddha

A funeral is a threshold moment in which we use ceremony and ritual to give form to the inexpressible sadness, loss and mystery of losing somebody that we love; it can be an opportunity both to celebrate and honour a life, but also to turn and tend to ourselves – how do we go on living – finding meaning and purpose – in the face of our loss?

I am passionate about creating meaningful and bespoke funerals and memorials that reflect the lives, beliefs, faiths and traditions of those whom have died, and those whom remain. As a minister and trained funeral celebrant, I bring my compassionate presence and guiding hand into creating a service that is welcoming, inclusive, and deeply personal to the individuals and families I represent.

"The service was stunning – simply graceful and awe-inspiring, just like Grandma… She will continue to touch our lives as we draw on the wisdom and the way that she was… Well done for organising such a wonderful service." Stacey T.

"Thank you so much for leading the service for my husband's funeral last Thursday. So many people said on the day and since then, that it was a lovely service and that it struck just the right note… My son and daughter are so glad that they stood up and paid tribute to their father. I know they were initially reluctant but the guidance you gave them helped them to come to the decision to do so… I can’t really find the right words to express my thanks for all that you did but I do appreciate it and am very grateful." Vicky R.

"Thank you so much for all that you did for my wife. The funeral service was a beautiful tribute to her life and she would have been proud of all that was expressed. We know the minister can make or break these things, and you absolutely made it. It was a very dark and difficult day but we were grateful for your warmth and presence. Thank you." Ian R

"Thank you so much for the service you lead for Mum. We were very much touched by what you said… Your care and compassion shine through the work that you do. It is a very special job that you do, and I appreciate all that have done for me and my family and friends." Emily H.

"I would like to thank you for the beautiful funeral service that you gave for my husband. It was perfect. I felt that you completely understood my wishes and you honoured them. I have received many comments on your lovely service and how touched people felt by it. You made a painful period in our lives happily memorable." Judith W.
