There are many reasons why people consider counselling; you may be struggling with certain difficulties or challenges in your life, you may be feeling stuck in some way, or looking for a new direction; you may be seeking a deeper sense of connection, meaning or purpose. If any of this feels familiar, then Soul Work may be able to help.

Soul Work

Bryony is a unique therapist and it gives me great pleasure to recommend her, knowing that she will be a gift to anyone seeking her guidance. Her listening skills and empathy make me feel deeply welcome and safe, and she always offers a different perspective with her amazing intelligence and wisdom. She has supported me to grasp and accept my situation and after a session with her I feel much more able to be who I am in the world, with more freedom, choice and joy ~ NB

Soul Work is the term I use to describe my counselling sessions, because it feels a more accurate reflection of the way that I work. Soul Work offers a freedom and creativity not often found in traditional talking therapies, providing a meaningful space in which ceremony, ritual, meditation, movement, and creativity can be included in the therapeutic process (although none of this is compulsory). Soul Work reconnects us to the wisdom of our hearts, the intelligence of our body-mind, and the essence of who we truly are.

In my Soul Work sessions, I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment for you to:

  • talk through your thoughts, feelings and concerns;

  • focus on what is important to you;

  • understand yourself better;

  • find a positive way forward;

  • find a deeper sense of connection – to yourself and the world around you.

Soul Work also provides practical tools and methods to support you in your life, and to deepen your experience and journey. This means that we can include any or all of the following in our time together:

  • Meditation and Mindfulness practises

  • Heart Enquiry – a practice for observing your mind and opening to the wisdom of your heart.

  • Body Work – supporting you to deepen your awareness of your body, and work through the physical and emotional patterns that impact your wellbeing.

  • Walk and Talk – walking together in nature can provide inspiration, freedom, and a greater sense of connection; these sessions can also provide a refreshing alternative to the formality of more traditional counselling arrangements.

  • Creative and Intuitive practices – these processes support people to access their inner wisdom and innate creativity,  and might include spontaneous writing, painting or divination (for example).

  • Guided Visualisation – a technique that can support you to access deeper states of relaxation, healing or wisdom.

  • Rituals and Ceremonies – co-creating personalised rites and rituals can provide a powerful framework for healing and transformation; to celebrate, honour or affirm something in your life, or invoke a blessing.

  • Shamanic Practises – including journeying, dreaming or healing. Please contact me directly if you are interested in exploring this further.

Bryony listens carefully and reflects, drawing upon her knowledge of an extensive range of belief systems to challenge the way in which I see the world and to open up new ways of thinking, enabling both emotional and spiritual growth. She has often given me insights which have deepened my knowledge and/or framed what I am thinking.

Bryony has helped me to unravel the feelings of guilt, grief and desperation a parent feels when they lose a child and has stood alongside me as I have experienced these. She is an excellent and highly skilled counsellor and I would have no hesitation in recommending her  ~ AD

If you have practices that already support you, we can include these too.

Ultimately, Soul Work is an invitation for you to come home to yourself, again and again.

An invitation to remember, to awaken, to witness all that holds you back from recognising the truth of who you are…

I am here to walk alongside you in that remembering; to enquire, to accompany, to invite, to challenge, to witness, to love, to celebrate, to honour you on your journey.
